Privacy Policy
Last updated September 22, 2026
This is the Privacy Policy for Interior Design AI: Floor Plan (the “App”), the iOS app developed by MD Shaha Jalal. The App was previously published as “AI Interior Design - Home Remodel”; it is the same app.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use the App, which redesigns rooms and exteriors from a photo and builds 2D and 3D floor plans on your iPhone.
If you have any question about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
Summary
The short version. The detail is in the sections that follow.
- We process the photos and floor plans you choose to upload so the App can generate redesigns and convert plans. Processing happens on our servers and on the servers of the AI providers listed below.
- LiDAR room scans never leave your iPhone. Scanning is done entirely on your device, and the scan and the plan built from it are stored only on your device.
- Uploaded images are deleted within 30 days. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models.
- We collect usage and device data to run the App and to understand which features people use.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The App does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), so you will never see Apple's tracking permission prompt.
- There is no account and no login. Your subscription and your assistant chat history are linked to a random identifier stored on your device.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected].
Information you give us
- Photos and images. When you choose a photo of a room, a building, a garden or a printed floor plan, it is uploaded to our servers and to the AI providers listed below so the requested result can be produced. You choose every image. The App does not scan your photo library in the background.
- Documents. Floor plan PDFs you choose to import, handled the same way.
- Text you write. Design prompts, room descriptions and assistant chat messages.
- Support messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write.
Images of your home, room scans and floor plans
Please read this section carefully, because it concerns information about where you live, and because the two ways of producing a floor plan behave differently.
- Photos you upload for a redesign are sent to our servers and to our AI providers, used only to generate the result you asked for, deleted within 30 days, and never used to train AI models.
- LiDAR room scans stay on your device. When you scan a room with your iPhone's LiDAR sensor, the scan is captured and processed on the device itself using Apple's RoomPlan framework. The scan data, the measurements, the room geometry and the resulting project files are written only to the App's own storage on your iPhone. None of it is uploaded to us or to any AI provider. It leaves your device only if you choose to export or share it yourself.
- Floor plans you import are uploaded. If you instead create a plan by photographing a drawing, choosing a PDF, or typing a description, that input is sent to our servers to be converted, exactly like a redesign request.
- We do not ask for your address and we do not attempt to locate the property in your images. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Information collected automatically
- Device data, such as device model, iOS version, language, region and time zone. Used to operate the App and fix problems.
- Usage data, such as which screens you view, which features you use, and which generations you start and complete. Used to improve the App. This includes whether your device supports LiDAR scanning, so we know which features to offer.
- Purchase data, such as subscription status, trial status, and purchase and renewal events. Used to deliver and restore your purchases.
- Identifiers, including an app-generated user ID, a Firebase installation ID, and your IP address. Used to link your purchases and your chat history to your device.
- Approximate location, meaning your country, derived from your IP address. Used for pricing and regional legal requirements.
- Dictated speech, only if you choose to dictate instead of typing. Dictation uses Apple's speech recognition and the audio may be processed on Apple's servers under Apple's privacy policy.
- We do not collect precise GPS location, your contacts, background microphone audio, or health data.
Log data
If the App encounters an error, we and our third-party providers may collect log data. This may include your device IP address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the App, and the date and time of your use.
Who we share information with
We share only what each provider needs in order to do its job. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share your images with advertisers.
- AI image and plan processing. These providers receive the images and text you upload: fal.ai and OpenAI. They process your content on our instructions to produce your result, and are not permitted to use it to train models.
- Analytics and app infrastructure. Google Firebase, covering Analytics, anonymous Authentication, Remote Config, and hosting of the built-in inspiration images.
- Subscriptions and payments. RevenueCat, and Apple, which processes App Store payments. We never see your card details.
- Advertising attribution. Apple Search Ads, so we can tell which advert brought you to the App. This uses Apple's own attribution token, not the advertising identifier, and does not identify you.
- Speech recognition. Apple, if you dictate rather than type.
- We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users. If we are ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we will notify you before your information is transferred.
Advertising and tracking
We advertise the App, but we do not track you to do it, and we would rather say so plainly than leave you to infer it.
Apple defines “tracking” as linking data from our App with data collected by other companies for targeted advertising or advertising measurement. We do not do this. The App does not access your advertising identifier (IDFA), which is why you are never shown Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
To measure which campaigns work, we rely on Apple's own Search Ads attribution token. It tells us which advert a download came from without identifying you. We do not use device fingerprinting, and we do not attempt to identify you through any substitute identifier.
Why we process your information
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are: performance of a contract, to produce the results you request and to deliver subscriptions; consent, which you may withdraw at any time, for processing the images you choose to upload; legitimate interests, to keep the App secure, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to understand aggregate feature usage; and legal obligation, for tax and accounting, and to respond to lawful requests.
How long we keep information
- Uploaded images, documents and prompts are deleted within 30 days. During that period they are used only to produce and deliver your result and to investigate errors.
- Assistant chat conversations, and the images attached to them, are kept until you delete the conversation.
- Purchase and subscription records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Analytics and attribution data are retained according to our analytics provider settings, and no longer than needed for the purposes described in this policy.
- Support emails are kept for up to 24 months.
- Anything stored only on your device — your design history, your saved floor plan projects, your LiDAR scans, and results you save to your photo library — stays there until you delete it. We cannot delete those for you.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw consent you previously gave.
How to ask: email [email protected]. Because the App has no login, please write from the device concerned and include your in-app support identifier, or enough detail for us to find your records. We respond within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for exercising these rights.
One thing to be aware of, because it is easy to assume otherwise:
- Deleting a design from your history removes it from your device only. It does not delete the copy held on our servers during the 30-day retention period.
- Deleting an assistant conversation deletes it on your device and asks our server to delete its stored copy.
- Deleting a floor plan project removes it from your device. LiDAR scans were never uploaded, so there is nothing on our side to delete.
- To have uploaded data deleted from our servers sooner, email us as described above.
- To stop new uploads entirely, stop using the AI generation and floor plan import features. LiDAR scanning and on-device editing keep working with no upload at all.
Your identity in the App
The App has no username or password, but it is not anonymous in the strictest sense, and the difference is worth knowing.
On first launch the App creates a random identifier and stores it in your device's keychain. We use it to recognise your subscription and to keep your assistant chat history. Because the keychain persists, this identifier survives deleting and reinstalling the App, which means a reinstall restores your chat history rather than starting fresh. It is not linked to your name, email address or Apple ID, and we cannot use it to identify you personally.
Users in California
Under the CCPA and CPRA we disclose the following.
Categories of personal information collected: identifiers; commercial information, meaning purchases; internet and app activity; approximate location; and visual information, meaning the photos and documents you upload.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have no advertising partners that receive your data, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
To exercise any California right, email [email protected].
Children
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the App is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers operate in the United States and elsewhere. Where we transfer data out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Cookies
The App does not use cookies itself. Third-party code and libraries used by the App may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information and improve their services.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and limited retention periods to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
The App and this site may contain links to other sites. If you click a third-party link, you will be taken to that site. These sites are not operated by us, and we have no control over their content, privacy policies or practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update this page and change the “Last updated” date. If a change significantly affects your rights, we will give notice in the App before the change takes effect.
